The Peugeot 4008 received slightly modified dampers and slightly stiffer springs. In addition, engineers have expanded the front and rear track, and also changed the wheel alignment.
But the Peugeot body is almost 100% original. The only identical detail is the roof, which came from the ASX.
In order not to interfere with sales of a front-wheel drive crossover Peugeot 3008 the company offers the Peugeot 4008 only with a plug-in all-wheel drive system. Transmission Multi-Select 4WD has three modes: 2WD (driving front axle only), Auto (the rear axle is connected if necessary and can receive up to 40% of torque) and lock (forced inclusion of all-wheel drive, up to 80% of torque can be transmitted to the rear wheels).
The Peugeot 4008 uses a two-liter Japanese engine as a power plant. The petrol “four” is equipped with a variable valve timing system and produces 150 hp. and 197 Nm of torque. Paired with “mechanics” up to one hundred kilometers per hour, the crossover accelerates in 9.9 seconds, and with a CVT that has an additional manual gearshift mode, it takes a second longer.
The car is available in three versions, which can be understaffed for a surcharge. The "base" has ABS, hill-climbing assistance (HSA), brake-force distribution (EBD) and directional stability (ESP). In the first configuration, the crossover is equipped with two airbags. But in the middle and top levels of equipment, a pillow for the driver's knees, side and curtain airbags are added to them. Ground clearance Peugeot 4008 is 195 mm.
Peugeot 4008 is produced in Japan. In the same place, on the basis of ASX, another crossover with a French nameplate is produced - Citroen C4 Aircross, which is available not only in full, but also in front-wheel drive version.
