Peugeot 2008 - a small "SUV" designed to compete Chevrolet tracker, Nissan Juke, Opel Mokka and other compact crossovers. 2008 was built on the same platform with a hatchback Peugeot 208, so the crossover is also positioned as a small city car (length 4.16 m), but with advanced features already traditional for this segment. The model debuted in 2013, and already at the beginning of 2016, it underwent a planned restyling, which brought a more “evil” grille, modified bumpers and three-cylinder engines. It is noteworthy that Peugeot called the reformed version "New 2008", although there was no generational change.
The French mini-crossover received a practical plastic body kit that protects the lower parts of the bumpers and the paintwork of the wheel arches, as well as increased ground clearance to 165 mm. The suspension is traditional for the segment: McPherson struts at the front and a semi-independent beam at the rear.
Peugeot 2008 is exclusively front-wheel drive, and the lack of all-wheel drive is partly compensated by the optional Grip Control system, which is a set of Mud and snow tires and intelligent traction control. The latter optimizes the distribution of traction on the drive wheels, depending on the mode selected by the driver. There are special settings for driving on sand, mud and snow.
The European range of engines of the updated Peugeot 2008 includes 1.2-liter gasoline units (82, 110 and 130 hp), as well as 1.6 turbodiesels (75, 100 and 120 hp). Transmissions: 5-speed "mechanics" and 6-band "automatic". But for the Ukrainian market, only gasoline engines with a return of 82 hp are provided. and 110 hp
Serial production of Peugeot 2008 is organized at the company's plant in the French city of Mulhouse.
