Peugeot 2008 — compact front-wheel drive crossover. The 2nd generation of the model was introduced in June 2019.

The new 2008 was built on the aggregate base of the 208 hatchback of the second generation. They are based on the CMP (Common Modular Platform) modular platform with a semi-independent rear suspension. The new design allowed to reduce the weight of the car and at the same time improve the noise and thermal insulation of the cabin, as well as reduce the vibration load.

The design of the SUV has become more mature and aggressive, while it cannot be confused with the older one. 3008th, in the appearance of which similar motives are noticeable. One of the key innovations is solid rear pillars and two-section rear door glazing. In addition, the waist line has gained a steeper rise in the transition from the front of the body to the stern.

Peugeot 2008 of the second generation seriously stretched out: the length has grown from 4159 to 4300 mm. At the same time, the width has changed slightly (from 1759 to 1770 mm), and the height has completely decreased from 1556 to 1530/1550 mm (depending on the configuration). The wheelbase has been increased from 2538 to 2605 mm, and the capacity of the trunk has also increased: the volume under the curtain has been increased from 360 to 405 liters, plus the underground by 29 liters. If you fold the backs of the second row, the loading volume under the ceiling will be an impressive 1467 liters.

The cabin is organized in accordance with the i-Cockpit concept with a dashboard above the steering wheel and switches on the center console in the style of aviation toggle switches. The display diagonal of the media system, depending on the configuration, can be 5, 7 or 10 inches. USB, Bluetooth, and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay apps are available. The traditional "machine" selector has given way to a compact non-fixed joystick. A projection screen is available as an option.

Three configurations have been prepared for Ukraine - Active, Allure or GT-Line - and three turbo engines in combination with "automatic machines" from the Japanese company AISIN. The engine range is opened by the petrol version 1.2 PureTech 130 hp. paired with 6-st. Automatic transmission of the EAT6 series, lovers of dynamics will be pleased with the petrol modification 1.2 PureTech 155 hp. paired with 8-st. Automatic transmission of the EAT8 series, and fans of efficiency are offered a 1.5 BlueHDi 130 hp turbodiesel. in combination with 8-st. Automatic transmission series EAT8.

In the starting Active version, the new 2008 offers: ESP + ABS + ASR systems, six airbags, cruise control, 2-zone climate control, heated front seats, a 7-inch touch screen, 16-inch alloy wheels and others options.

The Allure package is additionally equipped with: Grip Control for off-road driving assistance, touch-sensitive door opening and engine start button, 2-level trunk floor, special dark gray TREX interior trim, original Eco LED headlights, tinted windows and 17-inch wheels instead of sixteenths.

Also on the Ukrainian market is the top-end GT-Line equipment, which has the following additions: adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go function, collision warning and emergency braking in the urban cycle, Park Assist parking system, Full LED headlights LED with integrated LED daytime running lights, adaptive high beam "High Beam Assist".

In safety tests Euro NCAP Peugeot 2008 model 2019 release received rating of 4 stars for a car with standard equipment and 5 stars for a version with a complete set of security systems.

The new Peugeot 2008 is produced at the plant of the PSA concern in the Spanish city of Vigo. In addition, the model is produced in China, but such Peugeot cars are not supplied to Europe.
